A.2- SPECIALTY PROGRAMME
The specialty programme is divided into two blocks:
1- Academic activity:
a) Theoretical classes: These classes are part of the continuing education programme in anaesthesiology, reanimation and pain management and are organised by the Catalan Society of Anaesthesiology (SCARTD) at the premises of the Academy of Medical Sciences (Academia de Ciencias Médicas ACMCB -Can Caralleu nº 1-7). The sessions are taught by anaesthesiologists specialising in the subject from different accredited centres in Catalonia.
The purpose of these classes is to provide all residents enrolled in Anaesthesiology residency programme in Catalonia with the same, unified, high-quality teaching model.

Attendance to the classes is mandatory for our residents.
b) Clinical and bibliographic sessions. These sessions are prepared by residents.
c) Scientific and departmental sessions.. These are continuing education courses distributed into 1 or 2 monthly classes.
Attendance to these sessions is mandatory for all members of the department.
d) Specific academic activity, according to the residency year.
